About Ammocles
Prepared. Capable. Resilient.
No matter why you own a firearm, whether for self-defense, hunting, competition, or that unexpected bump in the night, I believe your training should match your intended purpose. It should give you the skills to meet those demands and the ability to exceed them.
I believe in measurable assessments during training so you can see where you stand and what needs work. Continued practice of those skills is just as important. If you do not keep practicing what you have learned, you cannot expect to recall it when you need it.
Here we train with purpose, blending firearms practice, competition, and defensive shooting to strengthen not only our aim, but also our mindset.
Ammocles
Pronounced AM-uh-kleez
The name Ammocles is a play on the story of Damocles. It reflects the belief that the Second Amendment helps preserve liberty and that those entrusted with power remain accountable to the people they serve.
Faith and purpose
Ammocles also brings together the use of firearms and the principles of Christian living.
Beyond training and competition, the long-term vision is to develop the channel into a men’s ministry, an outreach program, or both.
Train with purpose. Shoot with precision. Live free.

FOUNDER & LEAD INSTRUCTOR
Michael Leeper
Michael Leeper is the founder and lead instructor of Ammocles and brings lessons learned through competition, practical shooting, and continued training into his instruction. His approach emphasizes safe firearm handling, strong fundamentals, measurable performance, and helping students understand not just how to perform a skill, but why it works.
Michael approaches his own practice and every class he teaches with the understanding that his students’ time and money are valuable. His goal is to ensure that the training they receive is equally valuable, providing practical knowledge, meaningful improvement, and a clear path for continued development long after the class has ended.
